Marvel Mystery oil at fill up

Anyone know if adding a pint or so of Marvel Mystery oil at fill up, will help lubricate the VE pump, when using low sulfer diesel? Seems like most stations in IL/WI only carry the low sulfer stuff now

I inquired about something like this a ways back, and someone suggested I pour in 16 oz. of MMO mixed w/ 16 oz. Diesel Kleen Brand Cetane Boost (grey container). I have about 4 empty 32 oz. containers of MMO that I use to mix up my concoctions and I always pack two 32 oz. containers in the back of the truck, readily available to pour in whenver I pull up to a pump. So 32 oz. of the mix for 30 gallons of fuel. My truck has never had any issues and I actually have been complimented on the sound of it at idle, with its purrr. I have been doing this for about 6 months now. Get your additives at Wally World , great price there, but that place is still

I do the same thing, except with MMO and Power Service additive from Wally World.

Miejer had MMO on clearance for 7 bucks a gallon. I stocked up. I have seen it 2 times now for that price there. I'll take a miejer over the wallly world anyday. The only thing I buy at wally world is the batteries. No questions asked pretty much a free battery for life if you know how to wheel and deal.

If what you want is lubrication, there was a study referred to on another site that used soybean cooking oil new from the grocery store about $5 per gal.
I previously had not been using enough. In the test they suggested 32oz. per tank for best lube with measurable results. I had been using about 8 oz. per 20 gal of fillup like Lucas. I run Lucas all winter and Soy in the summer. The Soy does not help with smoke or miliage the way Lucas does. For whatever reason, I now have 430k on the original fuel pump and all still seems well. i may not have a 1st gen. but i run MMO durring every fillup. i mix it just like it says on the back (4oz for every 10gal).. upon my first fill up i noticed a quieter and smoother running engine and my milage has gone up a consistant 1.5 mpg hand calc. i now swear by the stuff and recomend any diesel owner to at least try it.

I used to run MMO, worked well but then I switched to a more "cold weather" friendly additive to prevent gelling. I then found power service and I have been using it ever since. It works well and its relatively cheap @ $5 a litre and they claim that 1 litre will treat around 300 litres(I think, don't quote me on it).

Good old Dollar General Store has Marvel Mystery Oil, in (I am guessing, don't have one handy) eight to twelve ounce bottles, for a dollar a bottle.

I dump a gallon of filtered used oil per twenty gallons of diesel.

When I don't have that, it gets a gallon of soybean oil, same ratio.

When I don't have that, then a couple quarts of whatever cheap oil is handy.

When it is handy to stock up at Dollar General, then I dump in some Marvel Mystery Oil.

Seems like adding regular motor oil like that would wreak havoc on emmissions . . . Does it smoke any more than normal?

Regular motor oil will cause a carbon buidup in the cylinders and on the injectors and head, I would not use it. If any oil use two cycle engine oil as it will burn cleaner. I use 50/50 MMO and power service additive in mine each tank full, I'm not much on measuring so I just give it a chug each tank, seems to work fine anyway.

Mmo/ps

Call it over kill if you want, but I use 16 oz MMO + 16 oz PS in every tank, or part of a tank of fuel. Works for me.
