Lund Moon Visor
Mine was just delivered today. I picked it up on ebay for what I thought was a fair price for new. Anyhow, I have always like the way they look. Are there any bad things about them?? Will this be a big drag on fuel economy? Its currentally -3 out so this will be waiting for spring time so I have time to think about it.

It was a one off deal. He was just getting ride of Old stock. I did some looking around just now and looks like they can still be had thru lund for right under 200 unlighted. I actually have the the lund sun visor. I seen the difference now. Moon visor has running lights and sun visor doesn't. I like the stock roof location anyhow.

The first gen Dodges are one of the FEW trucks that I actually like the moon visor on and I’m not just saying that because mine already had one on it when I bought it. When I refinish the cab I do intend to leave it there. It would be nice if they were finished a little cleaner on the underside because you have to look at it the whole time you are in the cab. I think it would be nice to secure the light wiring a little better as mine keep falling down. I am going to use those little square pads that they use to secure wiring with Zipties. Then while it’s off I’ll Undercoat the whole thing under there so it’s textured and black and it won’t bother me as much.
As far as any other adverse effects go just remember that anytime you drill a hole in the metal you are creating a source for rust and internal leaks. I plan to use a solid dab of clear silicone around every attaching screw.
There are a lot of airway spaces in it so I doubt it will effect fuel mileage much. The P/O of my truck said it got 19/20 all the time. He already asked me if it was done yet(No) and if I would sell it back to him(No).

My truck use to have a lisor on it but cuz of my personal preference I took it off and then underneath was some big rusty spots. Im not sure but I think it may have ruined my roof, I haven't talked to many body shops about it yet but its quite serious. Theres a pic down below click to enlarge it. Just be sure you do it properly so that your roof doesn't look the same after a few years
