Lower control arm BROKE!!!!
The spring probably tweaked when the truck hit the ground. A new set of 7226s springs will fix that right up and it will probably sit better in the front. My new springs gave me 2 inches of lift originally and it settled about 1/4 inch in 3 weeks.
Discontinued part
I called all the junk yard and no one has the control arm. Dodge dealer says it was a discontinued part. What do I do now? Anyone have a parts truck? Should I weld it back up, competently of course with addition structure to support the weak area? Thanks for your time and those new springs might be nice....

It appears from a quick search that '91 is a hard year to deal with, gotta know the build date on the truck.

"DEFINITELY NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Do not weld.
You said you were lucky it only broke backing out of the driveway and not doing 60mph on the highway. Why would you think of trying to give bad fate a second chance?
A good welder can weld it back together, but the heating process will only create another heat/stress point farther back next to the new welds.
You would be living a life of chance. My choice would be "ABSOLUTELY NOT"
May not be the answer you want to hear, but that's JMHO.....
try all u pull iguess. I usually dont have good luck with the pre pulled part yards. Plus I like doing the work meself! Keep us posted. What abot a Van LC??? Take somemeasurements, maybe. Ya never know what Mopar did to save some tooling costs.
junk yard dog
I had a reply from a yard in AZ off of the junkyard dog .com $45 for the arm and $15 shipping sounds good to me. I don't think that I would really weld on it... it was just a passing thought. Thanks for the advice. Also the dealer told me the arms for vans and 1 tons were different. I think I will buy the arm and fix it but only plan on driving another 6 mos or so before I start into the chevy repower with this truck as a donor. What do you think....?
Has anybody checked the companies that build off road trucks, Seems that they must use something stronger than the stock units. Most that I have seen have them built out of moly tube with lots of support. And they really thrash their trucks
