lower ball joints

I know guys say Moog is the way to go, NAPA carries theirs, for $25 each, and "top line" Dana's for $67 each. Are the Dana's any good or should I go to Carquest and get their cq/moog parts?

I'm also thinking of going to the JD dealer (carry lots of Parker fittings) and seeing if I can't get some hoses/fittings that would allow me to put the grease fittings in a remote location- open hood, pour oil, shoot some grease in, close hood. I want to have my lower control arms boxed so that would provide a safe route for the lower hoses.

Moog

It's only about a 10 minute job to hit all the grease fittings on this thing. If you don't want to get dirty, you can pay a garage a few bucks to do it for you. With a rack it's about a 5 minute job.

Grease is cheaper than parts.

You want to be able to see the boot when greasing a ball joint. Too much can pop the seal and allow water to enter.

I was told recently by a parts store manager (who I trust) that Moog quality has deteriorated and he likes TRW better. That being said, I've always used Moog and have never had any problems, so I don't know how true it is. TRW is more expensive, though, but that doesn't always mean it's better.

I'm not going to use the NAPAs. I figure DANA should be quality, will probably go that way if no one local has Moog.

My parts guy at Carquest told me the same thing about MOOG! They now recommend Raybestos
