Anyone ever have the parking brake pedal become loose on the mount? Looks like a factory rivet of some sort has loosened up and the pedal can slop from side to side, has started to mess with my park brake light now too, bent tab.

Just wondering if i can fix it or do i need to replace the whole assembly?

I had the whole assembly come loose on my truck. Tightened up the bolts and good to go. I would think if the rivet is loose between the pedal and the assembly, then you might need a new unit.

You might consider drilling out the rivet and replacing it with a bolt with either a jam nut or two nuts so that you can adjust the tightness. It's my two cents, Mike.

I have considered that, i am going on holidays next week so when i return i will be taking a closer look at it.

the lever for the parking brake is too weak for these trucks

I replaced the old torqued out lever with a new one and I can see that it flexes too much

there is a little bracket that contains the release handle that has come loose on mine

I "rebuilt" mine. I knocked out the rivet and replaced it with a bolt and a couple nylon washers. It was also cracked, so I welded it up and gusseted it. Works great now!
