loose clutch pedal

My clutch pedal is a bit loose on my 2001 6 sp . I went to my mechanic and he said the rod that goes throught the firewall had some play in it. He didn't know if i should worry about it or not!!!!!!!!

He said my clutch pedal clip was tight and it was the rod caussing this play.

Can anyone comment on this about might be going on . Is this a sign of future problem with clutch or transmission ?

The truck only has 69,000 miles on it.

Not a problem - the pedal does not have the traditional return spring, like the mechanical linkages did, so gravity is the only tension at the rod-cylinder connection.

IF the mc or slave is not leaking, it is normal.
