Loose injectors,

I just noticed a bit of an odor coming from the engine bay,,, I looked, and found that a couple of injectors are a bit loose, stock engine, stock injectors,,, Is this normal to need to tighten time to time???
And what tourque should i tighten them to????
Peter.

What's loose, the nut for the high pressure line on top of the injector, or the sleeve that holds the injector to the head? Sometimes the line nut will build corrosion. Back the nut all the way off (engine not running, of course) and check for junk on both the sealing surface of the injector and the inside of the nut. I'm not sure on the re-torque...I always go just tight enough, but I don't recommend that anybody else use that method

If the lines are loose just do what Greg said. Tighten them by feel. If the injectors themselves are loose in the bore you should pull them, clean the bores, and put in new copper seals.

It would be the bore seals,,, where do i get the copper seals, and tighten to what torque,,, They never leaked before the h2o meth scrubbing??
The nuts on 5-6 are quite loose, No others leaking.

The same place you got the 3200 RPM spring can get them for you. Get a whole injector install kit so you get new seals for the banjos. Dlittle posted the torque spec. I don't know why they came loose, nobody's had this happen before that I know of.

Mabey they have been loose for a long time, But were cruddy, Now that are becoming clean from running the water/meth, I also turner up the fuel screw till i had runaway, then backed off 3/4 turn, that is what bought me to 40 lbs..... More pressure/water/meth/MMMM Could be it just wants new/Bigger injectors???!!!!
Just turning up the fuel screw up made a big differance, And the water/meth, Just added more, It feels like when i went from no mods, to a turned up pump and a 3200 spring!!!
Well pouring this morn, cant work on it now.
Peter.
