Is it just the tail lights or is it all the parking lights? The headlight switch is probably is bad.

Weird, but Dodges are known for their electrical gremlins. I was thinking ground to the switch, but then probably all the lights on that switch would work or not. Short to ground? Check the wires going to the switch for signs of rubbing/contact. I don't know which wire is the one for the tail lights, but someone else may have a schematic lying around, unless there's one in the sticky...

i got it fixed. but thanks guys. the fuse that it needed is shared with the horn, and some one unhooked half of my horn, and when i blew the horn, it blew the fuse. the fuse box labels are faded so badly i didnt see that the fuse shared. so i went to mass amounts of trouble to change the switch and everything. kinda makes me feel dumb lol

We always unhooked the horn in the early 80s models we had on the farm. The horn liked to blow the fuse. Usually was the first thing we did to them.

Very easy, just a few screws. I took the one on my '85 apart and fixed it after I broke it by hitting it too hard when somebody pulled out way too close to me.
