Ksb leaking

The ksb is leaking from the screw in plug on the front of it closest to the timing case. It's dripping steady when the truck is running. Seems to have started after I installed the new lift pump. I have not had a chance to check fuel pressure. Would this even cause this to leak?

The truck runs well just leaking a bit. I tightened the plug and it did not help. Can this be fixed on the truck? What do I need to fix it? Thanks

I hope you didn't get one of those cheap piston pumps that put out 40+psi. It will push the front seal out of the VE and fill the crankcase with fuel. If you have a piston pump you definitely need to check the pressure.

No I got one from dieseltuff that he setup for the ve. I did check the oil and the level has not gone up. I have about 50 miles on the new lift pump.

OK. Then you got the same one I got. I checked my pressure and it's 15 psi at idle. Good job.

You can get the genuine Bosch seal kit DGK-121 off ebay for around $20. Sometimes Amazon has them for cheap. I think you can remove the KSB from the pump without pulling the pump.

99% sure there is nothing to fall out behind that plug and you can simply remove it and change the O-Ring on it.

Hazard Frought has O-Ring kits, both standard and Metric.

Yes, but are they diesel fuel resistant?

Not sure but have used them before for fuel applications and haven't had to change any yet.

Small Deere tractor, big 4x4 diesel forklift and think there's one or two on my truck.

Thanks. I just order the Bosch seal kit on eBay. I hope it is only the bolt leaking and not behind the ksb.

Thanks guys. The seal kit fixed it. The o ring on the plug was flat and brittle allowing the leak. I am glad I didn't have to pull the pump.
