KSB Cold Advance Solenoid wiring

My 4BT uses a KSB Cold Advance Solenoid that's similar to 1st Gen 5.9 trucks. The wire loom go to a connector on cylinder head and there's another wire coming out of that loom, a single green with a male bullet terminal. Does this single green wire get connected to 12V or ? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that my KSB solenoid only has one wire going to it. The Shutdown solenoid has two.

first you have to deside if it is like our non iner cooled pump or our intercooled pump cus the way the cold start work is a little bit different!

same consept just diff methid of doing it!

Yes, that would go to 12 volts. I don't think any of the non-Dodge applications had a "black box" like the '89-'91 trucks. AFAIK, all the other applications ran off a simple switch. Wax motor KSB's had the switch in the coolant, solenoid KSB's had the switch in the manifold.

Thanks for the info, guys! This thing is right by the throttle linkage and apparently has a total of three wires to it. Two go to what is probably a block sensor/sender in side of block, and the other is a single green wire with male bullet, unplugged at the moment. So that goes to 12V. Thanks! No black box on this old thing. VE pump should be the same as it's non-IC.

Hmmm...."wax motor"? I'll bite: what in tarnation is a wax motor?

Wax is heated up to the point that it expands and forces the timing back to stock,...inturnaly!(non intercooled descine)

Most thermostats are controlled by a wax motor.
Amazing how the temperature charactertics of a wax pellet can be that calculated.
