Which Intercooler

I'm in the process of doing my crew cab conversion and while I have everything disassembled, I was contemplating changing the intercooler, but am wondering which one would be my best option.

One from a Ferd (what year is best) or a Dodge 2nd gen? I know there are stickies for both, but looking for opinions before I lay out the cash.

The other upgardes will be gauges (of course) HX35 turbo, fuel pin, PODS (I have a set but was wondering if these are my best option).

All opinions welcome.

I've heard both a powerstroke intercooler and a 2nd gen intercooler are fairly comprible... I guess it all depends on which one you can get your hands on easier.. I'm going with a 2nd gen intercooler... Already have it, just need to install... Good luck

On trucks that were non-intercooled originally, the 2nd gen Dodge unit takes less work.

G1625s did it - but he had to cut the front off the frame.

What about on an intercooled truck? Which one cools better, the PS, or the 2nd gen intercooler?

Will the PS intercooler cool better than the 2nd gen Dodge intercooler?

The surface area is about the same. Tworline measured his and I measured mine. They were real close in size. Make sure you get the all metal cooler if you go with the powerstroke unit. Some had plastic end tanks.
