Well close. It's a strainer from a outdoor turkey fryer that I won like 12 years ago. Never used the strainer and measured it and wow worked out. Had to cut 5 inch hole in the end and shorten the pot 2 inches. On the edges that i cut went to part store and bought the chrome door edge trim $2.99 to cover the hole and the end that I cut. Did not have enough left over to cover the slot I cut out where the cold air vent from the factory air filter hits it so I used tape on that edge but no one see it .On the back end its open but sits against the fender. I took a 1 inch metal strap and screwed it across the back to keep the filter in place. You can see 1 of the screws for that on the back edge of the pot above the slot I cut out. Took 2 screws and on the fender lip attached the pot so it would not move. To change filter have to take off tube running to turbo and the 2 screws on the fender lip. Then the 2 screws that goes across the back. Not a lot of work to change. But will not have to do that very often .

[QUOTE=longshotranch;3138776]Now all the hot air from the engine can get in through all those holes.[/
Only like 6inches of the filter sits out in the engine bay. Most of the filter sits back in the fender. The back of the filter sits against the fender. I cut a slot in the air housing where the out side air vent from the factory air box hits. Hoping to get some outside air to the filter.Well I will see how it works if seems not better will put the old back in.

I cut holes in my stock air box. When it is hot out AND I am pulling hard, I duct tape them. Up here in the north, I just wish I had to keep the tape on more often. Just picked up a mig and am going to do something better for a bhaf. It won't be pretty but it should work!
