Injector Leak

Tonight i was driving and noticed the smell of diesel, and when i parked, I saw fuel running down the block and dripping on the ground.

turns out, when the trucks idling i have a fuel leak with little bubbles coming out right where the injector body goes into that big nut thats in the head on cylinder #6 , at first i thought it was the return line copper washer leaking but i tightened it up and tightened up the main line on top and still leaking.
and it leaks when i shut it off too, which makes me think it's something to do with the return

5 days ago i replaced the fuel filter and filled it with Diesel Kleen like i always do.......

2 days ago I removed the injection lines off the injectors to move them out of the way so i could retorque the head, Also removed the valve covers and re-used those gaskets since they weren't leaking before, i left the gaskets on the head and just took the covers off.

Now i get it back together and i got this leak, #6 valve cover is also leaking oil which is mixing with the fuel that #6 injector is leaking and it's making a nasty oily/diesel mixture that's running down my bellhousing/block

I guess tomorrow I'm gonna pull that injector with my puller, and see if i can clean it up and figure out why it's leaking. I hope the injector body is not leaking.

I've heard of the injector bodies loosening up a little sometimes. You could put a wrench on the injector body and see if you can snug it up a bit more. If that's not it, it could just be the copper seal in the head? Clean up the sealing surface inside the head before re-installing it.

Everything I've searched and read says to try tightening the locknut with a deep socket after i taket he lines off? I'll try that when i get home

I just fired it up cold an hour ago and it ran like absolute crap until i brought the RPM's up and it cleared out.

You could try that before pulling it out. You'll have to remove the hold-down nut either way. If it stops leaking, leave it be.

Rough idle doesn't sound good though.

Hahah wow it was the nut that goes into the head. It was real loose, I used like a 21mm deep socket and it sealed the leak right up.

Crazy how it just started leaking all of a sudden.

Nice easy fix!
Did you build the home made injector puller as in the sticky or did you buy an off the shelf puller?
