The engine will run without any damage indefinitely. As long as you don't have one popping way too early or a leaker drooling fuel all the time you don't "need" to change injectors. However, by 150k or so you will notice slightly better fuel economy and smoother running with a fresh or rebuilt set.

Stock injectors are expensive, might as well upgrade.

How much fuel do you want?

I am a mileage kinda guy, but want to get a little pick up and go, ya know?? I guess I am the want my cake and eat it too type of guy... anyway, I am willing to sacrifice a little power for better fuel mileage... I want to push the truck as much as I can and still see the 20+ mpg... jake

Get 190's then. They are stock style Bosch injectors, only the holes are a teensy bit bigger. Worth about 30 HP at the tires with no other changes and won't hurt the mileage if you keep your foot out of it.

Haze at idle when the truck is warm.

The main thing to look for is high EGT and low MPGs. I had a 93 tha tran a little hot, but nothing outside the ordinary (it WAS a W350, xcab with 4.10s). But, it got 14mpg hwy, so I got the injectors cleaned and reset, and jumped to 19mpg hwy. Idled just fine, no change in idle with the nut cracker test (that's why I dont like it).

But, hazing from the tailpipe and rough idle can also indicate bad injectors. With 150K or more, it is a good excuse to upgrade.

i am still seeing 20+ mpg... the power could be better imo, but i know the rig has 160 hp, so i am not expecting a whole lot (FOR NOW)... May be a good excuse... I'll have to sell the wifey on the idea...

The injectors are fine. You only need new ones if you want more than 250 HP.
