Injecter pump

My injecter pump on my '93 Cummins Turbo is leaking fuel while the engine is running. Any suggestions as to the cause and probable solution?

Is it leaking up high or down low?

Exclamation Need more info

The most commen place to leak is,the thottle shaft the oring and bushing might need replaced. It will show the leak when it's running and go to a drip when shut off. But like Dave asked where is the leak at?? Or fuel may be getting passed the diaphram in the afc housing and going out the over flow. Again this will leak the worse't when the engine is running.

My '92 has also developed a leak; I'll try to explain where it is. The leak is at top dead center (the pump sits at a angle) at a bolt that is just behind the belt shroud. The bolt has what looks like yellow washers on either side. There are two fuel lines on either side of this bolt, and one of the lines runs over the top of the bolt. Fuel seeps out from around this bolt when the engine is running. Thanks.

That sounds like the KSB banjo. I'd try (gently) tightening it, if that doesn't work you will need to get new washers from a pump shop.

it is leaking from the bottom near the back end where the lines attach. It is really difficult to determine where the leak originates, but it doesn't appear to be coming from the line connections, and it only leaks when the engine is running.

Clean it off really good and look to see if it's coming from the side of the pump next to the block, or actually from the bottom near the back. If it's leaking from the side that's the timing piston cover seal. It's an easy driveway fix (once the pump is out). If it's leaking from the distributor head you will need professional help. The pump has to come out either way.
