Getting tired of it. Sorry, no pics, but easy to describe. It is around the rear flange of the oil pan, directly in front of the bell housing. I am possitive it is not the rear main seal; changed that out when I replaced the flexplate last year. I was wondering if it was the other seal infront of the rear main seal, which I did not change. Again, it is mostly moist around the 3 or 4 most rear bolts and the flange at the most rear of the oil pan. My transmission pan and everything towards the rear of the truck is saturated. Must be a real slow leak, though, cause my oil level never seems to go down. Again, I am assuming it is oil.

Did you pull the cover for the rear main when you replaced the seal or use the 2 screw method? Could be the oil pan gasket or rear main seal cover to block gasket. There's also supposed to be some RTV sealant where the pan gasket meets the cover gasket.

Did you install a Cummins Teflon rear main seal and did you install it dry?

Cummins brand gasket- only the best! Really doubt if is the rear main seal, cause I know where that tends to show oil. There is not an oily spot on my driveway like the rear main shows, in fact, just oil all over the rear of the oil pan. Must be oh so very slight, cause no drips on driveway.

I will check that. I just put some new cummins grey ones in there not too long ago, too.

Maybe you, or someone, could post a pic w/ a location?

Just curious, I did the plunger lift pump a while back, like almost 4 years ago. I notice under that area of the material where we are suppose to trim off some of that rubber insulation I notice it is moist there, too. What could cause this? I applied that thick sealer along w/ the gaskets to those lift pump plates during that swap out, so I am curious why this is moist. I wonder if that is leaching down the the oil pan flange.

The tappet cover runs the whole length of the engine on the driver's side, about the same height as the injection pump. There's a foam noise insulator pad covering the actual tappet cover.
