hey-Hey!!!,
That looks familiar. IIRC it goes on the edge( well...one of them )of the footwell vent cover. It's been a half-decade since I did a cab swap on my '91 jus' so you know how much time has passed...
cheers,
Douglas

I believe it is to fill the gap between the plastic dash and the side of the cab. I don't think it serves any purpose other than to block the view of any of the guts behind the dash. Mine fell out and I stuck it in the glove box and thought," I will put it back in some time." nope.

Yes... I was thinking of the cover which includes the slide to operate the footwell vent. With further thought, Trooperthorn may have it better than I.
cheers,

Seen them on both the plastic side cover and the gap by the dash...... Mine is strategically placed in my glove box.
