A 99 hx35 would have a waste gated 12cm on it from the factory.

Nope, 24valve hx35's have the actuator on the compressor housing, the 12valve ones have the actuator on the exhaust housing.

12v's also had a clamp on elbow you can remove to attach a 1st gen downpipe, 24v's had a one piece backplate and elbow that need to use a 2nd gen style downpipe. A 2nd gen downpipe can be used, but things get a little tight around the firewall.

Yes the HX would be a good upgrade especially if you have your pump tweaked some. The other thing is depending on what year the engine you swapped in you might have the 21cm exhaust housing and most HX's have a 12cm which will give you faster spool up.

I put an hx-35/12cm, wastegated on the truck in my sig. Pulling my fifthwheel I can get over 1300* The truck runs great with this set up.

Later, Tony
