How to make a winter front?
Has anyone actually made their own winter front for their trucks. With mine detuned now it runs a lot cooler now and its getting to me on them 3 hours drives in the morning with just enough heat to keep me from shivering.
Basically what I am wondering is....are the winter fronts solid so no air gets through at all? Or are they a cloth type material to keep out some of the cool air.
I priced some but for $100 plus i think i can fabricate something.

Well i was using the cardboard but it always falls out. Either that or by the time I get to where I'm going the watery snow/slush on the road has the cardboard into a pile of mush.
cut some aluminum diamond-plate into the same shape as the holes in your grille. I would leave about 1/8" gap around the outside edge though. Fasten them through the grille with a stainless bolt or two.

Try something like this. I'm sure you could find someplace local to do similar. The frozen cardboard trick is apretty cheap and easy

On one of the ranch trucks I cut plexiglass to cover the grill inserts and held them in place with plastic zip ties. They go on easy w/o tools and can just be cut off. A hand full of ties in the jockey box and your all set for the winter.
