The speedometer, odmeter and tripmeter do not function in my truck. While I was pumping grease into the zurks on the rear driveline I noticed that the sending unit is loose the main nut and another nut a liittle up the unit. I spun them down finger tight (still no function) but I wasn't sure if there is a special way, or position it needs to be in. Any ideas on what the checklist for touble shooting this should be?

Check the square drives on those 2 units you tightened up, maybe one of them is stripped. There's no special position for them. The sending unit could also be bad, I've had one go already.
