How Far on a Tank of Fuel?

Hoping someone comes out with some electronics that eliminate the 3rd. injection pulse.
A couple of questions....what size tank on the earlier models, and what gears? I know the auto in mine, 4X4, along with not being able to get 3.55s ain't helping, but it is what it is. One advantage we have is if I do run it dry, this system is SUPPOSED to self prime when you pour in 5 gal. Don't want to test it though.

I was going to buy an 06' CC 4x4 cummins and drop in a 75 gallon in-bed tank. It would be nice to go from Maine to Texas without stoping. But I ended up getting the Yukon XL instead. I have been FEENING for another diesel, but the GMC should last 300,000+ miles too. If it doesnt a replacement engine is only $500.
Once I retire and get out of the Navy I plan on getting a new diesel. Cummins better hurry with the engine or I may get the LBZ Duramax.
Made a mistake, my 89' had a 30 gallon tank. The Yukon has the 31.
Took the Yukon on a 5K mile round trip right after I bought it and averaged 21.4mpg all the way to TX and back. Not bad for a school bus gasser going 80.
