How do I improve the ride? 2WD

I love my 1991.5,

But it rides harsh compared to my old GMC. I put new KYB shocks on it and the ride is better, but at 70 mpg and the concrete expansion joints feel rough. I though there was mention somewhere on adding shackles to the rear to make the ride softer.
I rarely haul something heavy or tow anywhere close to capacity.

well those jarring "jolts" or shock impacts won't be improved with much of anything on our vehicles other than lowering tire pressure, which lowers mpg, wears out the corners of the tires faster and handling sucks. But we don't have much of a choice there because the cummins is so heavy - therefore the tires NEED to be at the minimum recommended pressure...

And the fact that these 1gens are TRUCKS not heavy duty station wagons.

Trucks ride rough .

You could put more padding under your seat. These are real trucks not soft chev's, they were ment for working.

Jim Lane has done a write up on making your rear leaf springs feel smoother. Look in the stickies for this.

i wonder if changing our rear shock position to more of a vertical orientation would help?
has anyone messed around with trying to find a newer set of leafs of a different truck that would fit. the newer trucks are much softer
