Houston We Have Smoke!
Houston We Have Smoke!
Got the lock the lock ring off the fuel screw (amazing what u can do with a Dremel) Screwed the the screw back in smokes but not alot. The only thing is I cant get the idle to come down to a respectable grumble. The idle screw is backed all the way out. Pleasee help.
Is the idle screw touching the throttle arm? You sometimes have to do a little grinding because the arm hits the pump. The linkage may also be stopping the arm before it hits the screw.

That idle screw is a fun one ain't it! I had to put a little piece of wire in that hole in the end and then run the lock nut all the way against the wire to turn it. Haven't figured out what do to if I ever have to go the other way!
What would happen if you simply re-indexed the linkage on the throttle shaft? I know you could reduce idle speed this way, and it would get you back into the area where you could adjust it by turning the low idle screw, instead of grinding off the linkage. What I'm not sure of is what effects, if any it would have on the high end. Any thoughts?
