Housing Oil Leak

I just noticed oil leaking at the clamp that connects the exhaust housing and the down pipe. I have never seen this. Any experience with this problem? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Time to rebuild or replace the turbo. Sounds like the oil is leaking by on the exhaust side and going out the exducer wheel area.

Yup, either that or valve seals. You'll know when you pull the turbo. If the manifold is wet inside it's the valve seals.

Good thing you caught it before you had a turbo fire.

I've heard that if you lose a seal on the compressor side you can suck oil into the motor and it will run away. True?

Mine was leaking for a bit with no run away but maybe I'm just lucky.
