Do you have a stock auto? If you do, that thing might be ready to blow...

With what I have I'm killing the newer diesels around where I live.(minus the new injectors)

You have much larger injectors so your power potential is there. Are you talking about running the HX50 in a compound setup or as a single? If its a single are you sure it will spool before 3rd gear. lol

Are you sure about that HX50. Not very many people like them. As far as rwhp, I really don't know, but 6X.016s will push a whole bunch of fuel. You will be able to put a whooping on newer diesels for sure. If you got your tranny built back to stock specs, you might be in for a rebuild pretty soon. They were designed for 160hp, 400tq and I know you are exceedig that.

I thought a 66/71 was S300 based. Most say to run the "14", 0.80 A/R housing.

66/71 is the "sledpuller 66" right?

I am pretty sure JAayers made his 501hp run with a 62/71/14.

you gotta remember too how drasticaly lighter our first gens are compared to the newer diesels. We can only have 300whp and stomp most 3rd gens with 400whp. Our power to weight ratio is what makes the first gens so ideal for drag racing a diesel. A solid 2wd 1st gen with 450whp should be able to run mid 12's, maybe even low 12's with slicks and a spot on tune. Those quad cab 3rd gen monsters have to have 600+ whp to run mid to low 12's.

Your biggest issue will just be getting spooled. In drag racing your 60' times are key.

Even if your tranny is a stock rebuld man, the stock torque converter is not going to be able to handle all the torque and you gonna have lower horsepower and torque numbers then you should.

The HX50 is like a pulling turbo,

Get the HX40 and a 4 inch downpipe becuase the outlet is 4 inch, and it'll work good and you should have about 330 HP and 550 TQ only because of your torque converter. add 150 +++ ft lbs to the torque if you get a converter.

You'll be lucky to get an HX-50 spooled before the pump defuels, the truck is gonna drive like crap.

As long as it's one set up for a 5.9. If you just slap a junkyard 40 on there it won't run worth a darn either.
