I'm very new to anything diesel [as revealed in my posts ha haha]. My own preference is for a truck that has strong performance but not anywhere near the ragged edge as I want the longevity of the diesel design too. So a guy can either use water meth as a power adder, up to a moderate increase, or else use it to manage a more heavily fueld truck. I'd like to get close to the maximum tweaks to fueling [adjustments, fuel pin etc.] while staying well within safe levels, and having the water/meth as that final kick when needed and to further protect the engine. I have to be careful because much of my truck's life will be as a tow vehicle....

Water/Meth revisited again I see. I'll throw in a couple things, one the best things in this thread is by Dave. If you pull a load on a regular basis you DO NOT want a non progressive system. (learned the hard way), now playing is ok. Now for those who want to build your own this is ok but remember a few things first.

#1--pump, most nozzles need in 60 psi range to attomize the water, however a 60 psi pump will only dribble in a turbo engine, the reason you have to over come the boost as well so if your at 60 psi pump pressure and 30 psi boost your only getting 30 psi thru the nozzle, so use a pump that accounts for this then add a bit extra .

#2-- more is not better in water/meth inj. Most ppl run 50/50 mix, so ill go into a brief explanation. If you add more water than meth it in my layman terms, it puts out the fire and you get no benifit. Now if you add more meth , since meth burns at a lower temp as it will ignite before the diesel which means predetanation, which is also of no benifit as well as damaging to your baby.

#3-- now my last subject, to use a progressive or not controler. As both Dave and I said a on and off system is one heck of a jolt, it can be up to a 75 hp kick and if your dragging a 15,000 lb trailer that might be unwise, so keep the non progressive system on the track not on a working truck.

#4-- ok I lied one more subject, if you buy a system get the best you can, no need to outgrow it, if you build it do a bit of research, size the nozzles right dont get the bigger is better bug, start off small and work up, the nozzles are cheap, because to much water is never good. If you want more you can add more water at higher rpms, add another nozzle that has its own boost switch. My first one comes on at 10 and the second at 22, the towing nozzle is progressive it starts at 10 and is at 100% at about 20.

Listen to ppl like Dave and others learn from our mistakes, water/meth is a great system it gives you power, controls EGT, as well as steam cleaning the carbon out, but it can as with everything do harm if not properly done, now go build something and have fun.

oh by the way, my system performance benifits to see what your in for.

HP is an extra 79 with dual system, my 60 ft. speed is 1.823
EGT pulling a load is 300 degree drop. now that aint bad on a stock truck pump tweaked and set of edm's.
