Help w ignition switch r&r needed! STUCK IN PARK
Guys,
So my factory ignition switch is in sad shape-wiggle to get the heater fan to run etc. So I looked up the SMP parts via the internet and order from Rock.
One lock tumbler US-141L and one Ignition switch US-214. I pull my old one out, but for the life of me- the new tumber looks identical to the old one- but down in the switch the US-240 looks different than OE.
Neither tumbler will go into the new switch and seat. Worse yet,https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...milies/yuk.gif I resembled the old parts and now the truck wont shift out of park.
Help! Suggestions?

Well some success today! The upper location missed the sliding plate when I installed the lock. After watching some U-Tube videos, I tried again and yes the new parts are correct and go together. I will head to the locksmith in the AM and get new keys. I will try again to disassemble the new lock first. But re-keying is a minor charge!
What I can say, wow I don't think Chrysler could have made a cheaper switch design. No wonder why they slide hammer and yank tumblers from cars and hot-wire with such ease.

The sad thing is it is a Saginaw built column, a GM company............. But yea, pretty easy to pop.
