It's tough, especially after it's got a lot of miles on it. Try beating on it with a hammer; don't try to use the hammer to knock the housing off, but hit "inward" around the housing to try to knock it loose. Then you can use a hammer to drive evenly around the housing trying to knock it off, but make sure you spin the shaft while you're doing so to make sure nothing binds. I had to heat the housing with a torch to get it to come of the center section.
A good piece of 2X4 and a 2lb sledge. You have to work it off slowly by giving it a good bump. Work in a criss-cross pattern with fairly good blows to the housing. Each blow I spin the turbine to make sure I don't pinch the wheel with the housing which could bend the shaft. It takes a bunch of hard blows to get it goin, but its only about 1/4" after it starts and its off.
