Help...Massive fuel leak (?)behind(?) the IP

As I was driving back from lunch today, I thought I smelled fuel. Boy did I. I am dumping massive amounts of fuel from the IP area. It is running off of the bottom of the IP. Using the primer on the side of the lift pump, I can see a little bit of splash between the pump and the head. A couple pumps from the primer and I can fill up a coke can.

Anyone have any idea what to do first? I am 30 miles from home, but I am at work, so I can get a ride.

By keeping my foot in it, I was able to move it onto my works parking lot. The leak seems to be coming from the lower half of the IP, between it and the engine. What can leak there?

BTW... It cost me about 10 dollars to drive across the street. I left a foot wide trail.

I have found a ride home, and I will check back after I get there.

All help is appreciated. Truck is in Richardson Tx.

I borrowed a mirror and a flashlight and looked up, from the bottom. There are two bolt holes and the fuel seems to be coming from very close to the top one.

Sounds like the o-ring on the back cover for the timing piston. Easy to fix - once the pump is off the truck.

The fuel is running down to that point, but it looks more like it is coming from the bolt-looking thing with the three sides on it. I am getting the truck towed home today and hope to do more looking on my day off this weekend.

AFTER I get it fixed, and it is still off of the truck, would that be a good time to install my new fuel pin and 3200 rpm spring? Is there a link in the sticky for IP removal? I will go check.

That weird bolt is what holds the governor arm assembly...never seen one of those leak before. Are you sure it's not the pump top gasket? The pump can stay on to replace that one...

No, I am not sure. My best idea, says its somewhere in between. But the fact that I was using 2 mirrors, and it was cold, and it was raining, may not have been letting my brain work correctly.

It looked to me like the fuel was running down to that timing piston area, it may have been the opposite.. After I get it home, I will be looking again. I was only able to see a little fuel splash, when looking from the top, and it was not wet there.

Which would leak more fuel, the oring or the top housing gasket? Or does it depend?

That pump just looks a little different from mine.

I had that o-ring go out on mine a few years ago when I was leaving work. The fuel ran out at the same rate and location you described. I had the pump pulled and a new o-ring put in and hasn't leaked since.

Where can I buy that kit at? I don't know of any local dealers and I can't find it online.

***EDIT***
I found a place called M&D Distributors. Less than 25 bucks, with tax.

Any Bosch dealer can get the kit, and they usually have it in stock. P/N DGK-121. As for the leak location, the potential areas you've pointed out see case pressure, so they'll leak the same amount of fuel given the same size leak.
