The transmission to transfer case coupling is hollow. I see no wear marks indicating it was turning in a seal. Does the A518 have a seal around the output shaft, or does it have a seal in the tail housing like the 47RH? Does the input shaft on the NP205 have a seal?

 

There "should" be a tailshaft seal in the back of the A518...might not be right on the back side....might be in a little???, and then there is a double seal on the input shaft on the transfer case.

If I had all my pics off the old computer I could visually verify that....

 

No seal on 518 output shaft just a double seal on the Tcase input shaft.

 

Shoot, okay, I assumed wrong then. Oh well. Just money I didn't need to spend. I was thinking I could turn down a coupling to match the seal on the 47RH. Guess I don't need to now.

 

The 47RH used a Tcase that could use a rear seal. The output coupler used on the 205 case doesn't allow the use of a seal.

If you do a 47Rh conversion you don't use a seal of the RH.
