H2 Wheels Rubbing on a D250?

Hi, I was wondering if there are any 2wd guys out there running H2 factory take off wheels, and if you can give me some input.

I have been running a set of H2 wheels for a while on my D250, the wheels have just been removed the first time in a year since they were installed, the inner rim and upper control arm show signs of rugging, they meet about 1" on either side of the upper ball joint centerline. After going through lock to lock steering at ride level and full droop there is no contact, the ball joints seem fine with no play, I can only assume this occurs somewhere in the compression range of suspension travel. When driving on rough roads there are rubbing sounds the tire making contact so it's difficult to hear any metal scraping.

Does anyone have any experience with this or suggestions on what the problem might be from?

I thought about getting some 1-1.5" wheel spacers but that will cause major rubbing with the fenders, another option may be cutting off the independent front suspension stuff in favor of a coil sprung dana 60 with radius arms.

It is not really the tire rubbing that bothers me it's only at full compression when it occurs, my main concern is the inner rim making contract with the upper a-arm.

I'd just take a grinder to the edge of the control arm where it's rubbing. Looks like removing 1/4" of metal from there would solve the problem completely.

Yea, I guess that's an easy cure.

I know the factory used dana 60's in the front, what do you guys think about going with a Dana 44HD on a mostly street driven vehicle, there's one just laying around and it would be without a front drive shaft when installed.
