93 D250 Wheels

I'm looking to upgrade the wheels on my 93 CTD with some better rims & tires. I read on the sticky where I can convert over to 2nd generation wheels if you replace the lugs. I have the opportunity to buy a set of nice rims & tires off a Ford F250 SD.

I thought at one time Dodge & Ford rims interchanged, but don't remember what range of years did??

I can't remember just which year the change took place, but FORD rims from the "SuperDuty" body style are no longer good old 8-on-6-1/2, but some metric junk.

Starting in '99 with the launch of the Superduty, the bolt pattern switched to 8 x 170mm, instead of the common 8 x 6.5".

So anything 98 or older would have the 8 x 6.5" pattern & would fit? If so, would I have to switch out the lugs like when converting to 2nd Gen. Dodge rims, or would they bolt right up?

Figures, I had a chance to buy a wrecked 85 Ford F350 with nice spoked wheels & tires about 6 months ago. Unfortunately, I had my head well below my belt, & didn't even think of the possiblity of using the wheels off it for my Dodge!......
