grab handle
Can you buy a grab handle for the passenger side pillar or has anyone built one? Some of my passengers are complaining about getting into the truck and I havn't even lifted it yet.

I have seen where many have used those big strap-type door-pulls, like you see on big old luxury cars.
They have a heavy metal strip, hidden under all the upholstery, that catches all the mounting screws.
You can sort of pucker them up, as in make the screw-holes closer, and get more space behind the handle, making them easier to grab.
I am going to make some of my own design, from 1/2" rod with flattened ends, sleeved inside heater-hose for cushioning, and prettied-up somehow, maybe sheathed in leather and Spanish-weaved.
I want one on each door-pillar, one just inside the door under the cab-roof, one on the outside --verticle-- alongside each door, and one on the dash above the glove-box.

I personally would not trust dash plastic to hold anything but gauges, a GPS and your favorite bobble headed toy. (mine is a dog) It probably has gotten very weak and brittle from the effects of age and sun. If you can use some of the metal bracing you could be ok as long as your friends don't come in the extra large economy size. Years ago, I found a grab handle in a JC Whitney catalog and mounted it on the outside panel just behind the passenger door so my father could get in my Bronco. I was thinking of doing the same thing to the RAM for the same reason. However I like the strap idea and I think I am going to pursue that route. A single bolt thru the inner roof skin and a hook to get it out of the way when not in use sounds pretty good.
