governor
governor
my pump has the stock governor spring in it
does this mean the engine will not turn over 2600 rpm or does it just mean the engine will defuel at 2600
the reason i ask is my truck has a 3.55 gear and a 3 speed non-overdrive
at 55mph it sounds normal but if you just run out on the floor it sounds like it turning faster then my 460 did 70 mph is absolute top speed with the cummins thats fine but i just want to know that im not killing the engine when im running 65 down the highway.

It will defuel at 2600. Depending on your high speed screw settings you may be able to get it to spin as high as 3500 RPM depending on the load.
You are probably turning about 2800 RPM at 70. Won't hurt nothin' but the mileage.
