Got started on twins

Got most of the parts rounded up, and got the primary mounted. Got started on the piping. Doing it a little different, since this isn't a daily driver. I did not want to mess with dropping the oil pan and all that. Plus this will work better for the hood stack.

What do you think?

I just copied it onto 3/4" steel. I am going to make the 3" pipe square to match the opening on the housing. I used 3/4" so I can blend the transition from round to rectangular. It is a divided ex. housing.

It's good to see someone not afraid to build their own twin set. Looks good.

Looks like it should work, when you're finished making your hot pipe I would at least wrap it with header wrap. Ideally I would have it ceramic(or your coating of choice) to minimize heat loss. The shortest distance from the small to the big charger is best but obviously you only have so much area to fit everything. So definitely want to minimize your heat loss to maximize efficiency.

My only concern is 270* of bends versus the common 90* in the hotpipe. I think this will hurt velocity and inturn hinder spoolup. I love the out of the box idea. I think it will work fine but just spool a little slower.

Oh and X2 on the wrap. You have alot of hot pipe there.

I've seen a 2nd gen with the secondary over there. Seems to work just fine, I think he made mid 500's with it.

Are you planning on doing a fenderwell exhaust like a '60's Super Gas car?

I wouldn't worry too much about it since it's 3" pipe, that outta keep the velocity up. I do fully agree on the header wrap to keep the heat in. I plan on getting some once I find myself a 62/71 to swap out the 66/65 I'm using in my set.

For those of you that want to see beyond the normal '90*' hotpipe twin sets, just go to a large diesel truck event where you have the top pulling and racing trucks in the country participating. You won't see any 'PDR' or vendor run of the mill twin sets. It's all custom. Anywhere you can imagine the primary located is where it will be.

Looks sweet. I've seen one other done like that but I can't remember where I saw it.
Good Luck
