Got a problem

Ok. I moved to California but my brothers at home with my truck. I replaced the timing cover seal and crankshaft end seal then put it all back together, While I was doing this I installed my new DennyT pin. Now the sucker wont start, i finally remembered that I put that pin in and never tried to start the truck, the only other thing i can think of is the harmonic dampener, when I took it off I didnt mark the position of the two cutout spaces that the sensor reads. Somebody tell me somethin. The truck rolls over but shows no signs of wanting to start.

i dont see why the hamonic balancer would affect running or not, from what i know(or dont know) the balancer just smoothes out vibration on these trucks. fuel, air, compression and ignition are whats needed for an engine to run so start with the basics and go from there...

last stop before the injector lines out of the pump - looks like an electric oil pressure gauge and it should have two wires going to it. Without power going to those wires the FSO will not open and let fuel to flow to the lines, and when the key is turned off the power is removed and the engine dies - it's the only way to shut of the engine save for plugging the airflow.

Yes, one of them is blue and comes from inside the truck. It is key switched 12 volts needed to open the FSO.

well I'm not sure what color they are, but IIRC one of them is 12v to open the valve (start cycle) and the other is 9v to keep it open (run cycle) - the wires vanish into the Underverse once they enter the Loom of Obscurity...

Two comments on this string:

Josh, the dampener or balancer has a slot that has a sender that tells a simple computer what the crank is doing, which is important because that tells the computer where the pistons are.
Max, there's another way to shut down the engine. The VE pump has a spring loaded lever about in the middle of the bottom of the face side of the pump. Hold that against the spring momentarily and the engine will die.

The injection pump is mechanical, the crank sensor is for other things.

If your crank sensor was "out" your charging system would not work and your Air conditioning would not work, just a few things to look for. sometimes that wire to the sensor can chafe and break. It would not affect starting at all.

You need 12v in those wires to keep the truck running. The second wire is to power the KSB solinoid via the KSB temp switch on the back side of the intake.
