going to do a few mods on my 92 "bruiser"

It's black and blue- so we call it "bruiser" LOL.

I am going down the usual upgrades, the tried and true stuff, that I have been reading about here and other places on line. Already have the fuel pin, came with the truck, that's cool, and this one already had the KDP mod done.

First thing I am doing, before I give another single HP is ordering and installing a new torque converter, I want the trans to live!

Mine is an intercooled 92 FYI.
AFTER that, I will put in the spring governer to 3200, turn the fuel screw at the same time.

I have laying around someone gave me a stainless steel 5"' down pipe, so at some point probably will install,

Going to order the 60mm compressor upgrade probably this week while I am stockpiling parts.

I have two questions- I Have been advised to get the Air dog fuel supply and filtration systems by a couple guys, and I am inlclined to go that direction after my run ins with fuel issues and water in the fuel of my other truck. Advice on this from the collective knowledge of the forum here?

Should I get the POD injectors for this build? My instinct is yes, from what I understand, the IC motors actually have smaller injectors than the non-IC?

It's a budget build up for the most part, on this truck. Just shy of 300hp would be great for my needs on this truck

From my research and reading over the years I have seen it mentioned more than a few times that the stock injectors should be good for the power range your looking at, so I wouldn't waste any money on new injectors, or if you do go with a rebuilt set of stockers. I've seen more than a few people post positive things about Eric at the Hungry Diesel and his injectors, personally that is who I would go with if/when I need injectors.

As for the Air Dog...I would not run that system personally, maybe a bottom sump fuel pick up but that's it, I'd go with a HVLP piston lift pump and a small disposable filter between the tank and lift pump, I use the cheap Farm G2 canister filters to catch the majority of the debris before it gets to my lift pump, and change those out every 6 months.

Can you eloborate on this system a bit,? I am having a hard time visualizing these parts and where they go?

Without a doubt the next two mods will be torque converter and gauges, before I add anything else. This is an intercooled truck, so am thinking injectors good idea at some point?

HVLP (high volume low pressure) lift pump replaces the OEM diaphragm pump. Some minor modifications are and additional parts are required. You can find a list in the FAQ section with detailed instructions.

As you can see by the list of stuff I did to my 92, I did not list a larger fuel supply line. Didn't need it and haven't had a fuel supply issues yet.

Thanks for this! Really helpful!

Your list of mods:
92 W250 HD 47RH with Compushift,- what's this mod? Further mods to the trans other than a TQ?

62/60/16 mod H1C, don't know this one?

DAP 7X.010 injectors, - self explanatory LOL

Scheid Lightning IP- what's this?

, HVLP piston lift pump that's the mod in the FAQ?

, 4" exhaust- I have this ready to go

, 60# valve springs- this one I haven't heard much about- please elucidate?

, home made cooler tubes. - what are these?

The usual gauges- I'm all over that

My parts list so far,

1) Goerend TQ
2) Gauges
3) I already have a fuel pin, came with the truck
4) 4" stainless down pipe (came with the truck)
5) new impeller for turbo
6) New governor spring
7) turn fuel screw

I am looking for 300-350hp max, nothing big, with cool exhaust temps

Considering:

1) New injectors as I have an intercooled engine- seems there is some debate on this?

HVLP mod?

and learning about those mods I have questions regarding.

FYI- this is kind of a dry run on the 92 before I jump into my frame off flat bed 92 project truck. That one I will also be paying Oliver for advice and parts as well.

I suggest better injectors since it is an IC truck.

5" exhaust isn't going to fit past the tcase well. 3" is stock, 4" is tight.

I am going to drag it out this weekend and check the OD on it. Got it given to me with my other truck, along with another Turbo with, I think he said smaller exhaust side turbo to spin up faster? Just sitting in my shop unused.

HD 47RH with Compushift,- what's this mod? Further mods to the trans other than a TQ?
The 47RH is the transmission from the 94-95 Dodge Cummins trucks. It added a lockup torque converter. The Compushift is a stand alone controller for both OD and lockup. My Swap: My 47RH swap into my 92 W250 - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums
62/60/16 mod H1C, don't know this one?
62mm compressor wheel and housing upgrade, stock 60mm turbine wheel, and smaller 16 cm2 turbine housing.
DAP 7X.010 injectors, - self explanatory LOL
Good injectors, but don't work or play well with other mods. On my list to change.
Scheid Lightning IP- what's this?
A high performance VE injection pump. I don't recommend it unless you're looking for serious HP. Not so good for towing.
, HVLP piston lift pump that's the mod in the FAQ?
Yes
, 4" exhaust- I have this ready to go

, 60# valve springs- this one I haven't heard much about- please elucidate?
The Sheid lightning IP is set up for 4,000 RPM. The 60# valve spring prevent valve float at high RPM.
, home made cooler tubes. - what are these?
Larger intercooler pipes. It allows for expansion and cooling of the charge air before entering the engine. A poor man's larger intercooler if you will. My thread: Home made cooler tubes - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums

For a daily driver, this setup is impressive. However, for a working truck it has high EGT and smoke issues.

Thanks for this- going a bit milder than this, one question is, I am thinking of changing the impeller that was listed in the mods on one of the sites. I have this other turbo I was given, need to ID it, I believe it is actually the same as yours, the guy gave it to me with the other truck, and I think that is what he said it was, not sure though, like I said, going to have to positively ID it, and it turns, but has been stored so long in Hawaii, I wouldn't trust where the rust might be in it. I will try to get a pic of it at some point. I might send it off some place to get it reconditioned?

60lb valve springs are suggested if you run a 3700+ rpm governor springs. Not so with the 3200.

I am probably going to the THD IP if my spare pump doesn't work that I bought off FB market place. The seller claimed it has a different pin in it. I'll find out. Not sure if it has the 3200 in it. Mine has the 3200+ the 40hp THD pin. They sure have jumped the prices on them! I paid $90 shopped for the parts. Maxed out stock IP $1500 https://www.thehungrydiesel.com/#!/T...gory=127367049

I have bought stuff from this guy. He ships fast. I got the spacer/studs for the piston pump. He doesn't have the big bore pump in stock. I got the smaller one. https://poormansdiesel.com/ I may get the bigger one locally or ebay if I go bigger. I have springs for either size. Got the fuel line too. I got the military dual battery connectors to replace my messed up ones. Not planning on going dual right now.

I want to do the 1/8th timing bump. May buy a dial indicator to time it in the future.

Got these injectors https://www.dieselautopower.com/dies...p-ve5x12vco145 when talking to DAP. Their "new" injectors are probably Chinese. Mine are rebuilt Bosch. I may go bigger. We'll see.

According to the owner of DAP I might end up with 325-350hp. I have a HX35 full length 4" diamond eye with muffler. I didn't know they also have it in stainless. Don't think DAP sells the stainless.

I ordered some injector puller stuff. I will practice on the spare cylinder head I bought. Got the tool for the lines

I made my own tools to pull injectors and lines. Just some cheap sockets and a cut off wheel and a nut and washers that matches the threads on the top of the injectors.
