When I started rebuilding this tranny, it was smoked pretty hard. I had to replace the 3-4 slider due to galling on the fork slot. Well, I noticed there is 2 grooves on one side of the slider, and the other is smooth. I couldnt really see a difference from one side to the other, but I re installed it like it came appart. Mine had the grooves facing the rear of the tranny. Is that correct? Or does it not matter.

Also, I have the top plate set on it, have the tail housing bolted on it, nothing set up as far as preload, just checking how it bench shifts. Well all is great except 5th, seems to want to fall out of 5th without even turning the shaft, like the detent is weak. Will it feel odd if the reverse light switch is out of it?
