Question Getrag questions?

Can anyone have a Getrag service manual in PDF that they can pm me? Im rebuilding one, but having tough time pulling the countershaft. What is a good source for shims in the tailhousing.

On the front of the transmission, down low on the front of the case, is a rubber covered steel plug. Take a punch and punch out the middle, and then pry the plug out of it. Remove the snaprings. The counter shaft drives out the front with a long large punch and a 8# hammer. Once you remove the shaft, the cluster gear pulls right out.

You can get shims through Zumbrota Bearing and Gear and a few others. NV4500 shims will work for the main shaft, but are too big for the counter shaft. If you cant find any, PM me; I have resources.

PM JLEONARD for the getrag PDF file.

You have a PM.

I got my shims from Standard Transmission.

Thanks everyone. Found a service manual online, and standard transmission is 30 minutes from me. For the countershaft, we got the plug out, and finally figured out to pull the shaft. Thanks again, Randy.
