You have to change the Main shaft and put the 4x4 housing on .

Using a divorced transfer case is another option... wheelbase permitting of course.

Great point, a divorced NP-205 would work for a RCLB truck, but even better on a ECLB or Crew project.
I have run one in an old '72 RCSB Power Wagon on 39s.
The rear driveshaft was really short with the divorced NP-205, and the 7 inch lift, I drove out of the woods using my front drive shaft only more than once.

You can do that but like my buddy pointed out that mean's you are adding 2 set's of u joint's and another slip joint to the mix with the Torque of the cummin's its easier to find the right transfer case . I was going to do a div case on my crewcab but choose to go with stuff that mates up .

I'm just throwing out another option, as Getrags (even cores) are getting difficult/costly to acquire.

Keep in mind the jackshaft never sees the torque of low range. The longer front driveshaft runs at a nice easy angle even with a big lift.

^ Another possible option. However, some say it doesn't shift as nice as the Getrag. IMHO, you get to the point where piece-meal dodge/cummins parts cost more than a whole donor truck. I guess that's why my yard looks like a wrecking yard
