Well I'm gonna drag my old pile to the truck pulls this weekend with the old mans 91, it will be the first real load I've put behind it and was wondering if it was safe to pull this much weight in 5th gear. Its pretty flat around here with some rolling hills, the whole mess should weigh around 16.5 -17

i pull 10,000 with a 7,150lbs truck all the time in 5th, but i am running gear oil, once i grossed 19.5 back when my truck was closer to stock.

been useing this truck for pulling that weight seince it had 228,xxx miles on it

 

This rag seems to be pretty tight yet no funny noises or nothin, so thats good to know, I'll just try not to shift it like I do my nv4500

 

Keep the RPMs up. If you are running less than 60, use 4th.

okay how did it tow?
how were the pulls?
where are the vides of the pulls?

 

Ok I was loaded up friday night ready to go, came inside to get cleaned up and what not, got online and found out the pulls were postponed due to rain, they reschedule the pulls for sunday but decided not to pull street trucks. So we'll have to wait for about 3 weeks till the next pull
