Fuel Sending Unit????????

Ok, So anyone know where I can get a sending unit for my truck? I have checked the wires and I have power to the unit just nothing wants to register on the gauge. When the truck is off the needle will hang around 1/4 full of fuel. When the truck is running it pegs to E. I did get a brief moment where it was working for about 10 seconds when I was driving the other day. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Guys

We used to see the brass floats leak alot back when your model was new, then they would just sink. When a new part was unavailable I would solder it up for a temporary repair. To test the gauge and wiring you can have a helper short the wire to the sending unit momentarily. If the gauge pegs the problem is in the tank.

Well the local dealer can't get one but I did manage to find a small shop that has one enroute for 50 bones. I will get it swapped out this weekend and hopefully it will be fixed. Thanks for the input if it dosen't work I will be back with more Q's.

I have one that worked when removed that you could borrow to test yours. I live close enough that shipping wouldnt be necessary.
