fuel gauge sending unit
fuel gauge sending unit
need a little help my dad has a 98 12v and it has a bad fuel gauge sending unit! was wondering where i could purchase one for him? if anybody had a good place or some recommendations? any info would be great thanks guys! Andy
Re:fuel gauge sending unit
How do you test to see if it is the sending unit? My gauge quit working, but I assume it is the sending unit. I would like to do some sort of test to make sure it is the sending unit before I pick one up.

Try grounding the wire form the sending unit and see if the gauge reads full.

I just found out 'Mopar 4 less' is not for less.
http://www.dodge-auto-parts-dealer.com/parts.htm
is cheaper.
There are 3 things in the Fuel guage Module kit.
P/N 4897668ae-Module- Pump, FP regulator, level unit. about 340.00
P/N 4897669ab-Level unit only- about 37.06.

I will need to drop the tank I imagine. Is there any type of gasket I will need to replace? Is the level unit seperate from the rest of the components in the tank?
