Fuel line extension...
Wondering what the crewcab guys have done to extend the fuel lines? Or did you just replace them? If so what connectors did you use, and what kind of line?
I've been trying to figure out the best way to extend, or alter the fuel lines so that they will work on my long box crewcab chassis.
Thoughts, suggestions?

One suggestion I have for guys doing diesel swaps, where you often have to change fuel lines, is to add about a foot 12" of clear vinyl tubing just before fuel filter. It makes for an easy way to diagnose air bubbles, water, grunge and contamination etc.
I just used common hardware store 'vinyl tubing', nothing special, installed with some good clamps. Held up for about 6-7 years so far, no problems.

We just did some patching on my dads 93 and he found some stuff at our local carquest, its plastic just like the stock stuff. It has fittings that work with the factory "snap lock" stuff. They are barbed and push into the plastic line then you put a one time use, crimp on hose clamp on and your done. Pretty slick stuff to work with. They also make kits for adapting to steel line.
I would go with a larger steel line between the tank and engine with hose at the ends. Something like 3/8" should do, unless your pushing the HP way up. Because of the distance, I'd even opt for an electric pump back by the tank.

This is kind of the direction I was leaning towards. 3/8 line from the tank to the lift pump. Then 5/16 for the return line.

I put all new line from the tank to the lift pump. I got diesel rated hose from a local diesel shop. I ran a 1/2'' line for the feed and 5/16'' for the return. I also installed a vulcan draw straw while I was doing it.

It is a filler line/pick up you drill a hole for in the top of your tank.
It is about 1 inch tube for the pick up.
You keep your old fuel sending unit, as it will still read your fuel level in the tank.
The 2nd and 3rd gen crowd use them when installing FASS or Air dog style fuel pumps usually.

I used this one and it worked fine. I was having issues with sucking air at half a tank because of a hole in my factory draw straw. This fixed the problem. Also too because it makes for a bigger outlet. I intend to put a p pump motor in mine in the next couple years and wanted to prep for it.
