I'm having the same problem.
Eagerly awaiting some replies.
I put in a new sensor and it only works when I get down to a 1/16 of a tank and then the needle moves and the warning light comes on.

what hes saying, is did you clock the arm to miss the side of the tank so it retains full travel?

In my experience, nine times out of ten malfunctioning fuel gauge is caused by the sending unit ground wire not making good ground.

Maybe you stretched or damaged it when you had the tank down.

The level sensors are 60ish from dodge. A wiring problem would cost you how ever much the shop wants to charge you in hours to find and fix. Ground the wire at the tank and see if the gauge moves. If it works then you will have narrowed it down to sensor in tank or poor connection at the sending unit or the float arm hitting the side of the tank, or the sensor was damaged removing the sending unit from the tank via bent tabs. All of which is a simple fix if you had enough mechanical knowledge to remove the tank then those should be easily found and fixed. Have fun and run it almost out of fuel before you remove the tank again, I would suggest removing the bed/rolling it up over pulling the tank though!

Same boat you are in with my conversion. Now that it is painted and the bed is on I have decided to forget it. My trip odometer works good enough for me.
