Question Fuel in AFC after Denny T pin installed?

I went to install a 3200gov spring today and when I took off the AFC cover and removed the diaphragm and pin. I noticed fuel all over the pin and some under the diaphragm.
Is this normal?
When I took the old pin out it still had some grease on it that I assume was there from the factory. When I put the pin in on Friday I smeared a little grease on the Denny pin and it is now washed off. Thanks for any info.

the pin that rides on the fuel pin sometimes gets over extended with the aftermarket pins. I don't remember what guys were doing for a solution but yes there has been many people with the same problem. Here is a write up in the sticky on how to fix the leak.

Gunk builds up on the pin. When it has to travel further than it use too, that gunks hits the o-ring. Sometimes the pin will clean its self off and re seal. Other times, the pin will have to come out and be cleaned, then a new o-ring installed.

Thanks for the link guys. Now I need to figure out if I should finish the install of the 3200 spring or get the kit and do it all at the same time.

That is what my plan is. I got them both at the same time. You have to take the AFC housing off any way, why not replace the o-rings and seals at the same time? It's not because I'm lazy because I am, I just hate taking something apart twice.

You wouldn't happen to know how much that kit costs? There is one local diesel shop where I am and I'd swear they have 200% mark up.

You will need a Bosch Gasket Kit #DGK-121
I don't really remember exactly but it should be under $20.00.

There was someone here who was replacing the pin with a longer pin made from a drill bit or at least was talking about it.

Thanks for the info, The local Cummings dealer turned me to the Bosch dealer they deal with. The kit was $19.95 plus a few bucks for delivery, and same day delivery. I am going to tackle this after work today.

The kit and 3200rpm spring cost me $40 mailed to AK from TN. The local Bosch dealer won't sell parts.

also a great search technique to find the good Cummins on ebay no one has bid on cause it's spelled wrong and they couldn't find it!! It's how I found my Utility truck as a matter of fact and got it wicked cheap.

"Deisel" is another social de-engineering tactic!
