My fuel pump is gouging the Denny T fuel pin

was just wondering if this was normal... While bumping the timing up today, I also checked the fuel pin. It has about 2,000 miles on it so far.

here's a crap cell phone picture

Did you grease it before you put it in?

mine is grooving a little too, it has less than 500 miles.. I've pulled mine ages times to check the travel.. I just take a little fine sandpaper an polish it out each time.. I dont think grease will do much. I'd THInk it would just break down after a bit.. But I will give it a worl next time I pull mine out.

ive tryed white lithium grease, didnt work, motor oil, didnt work, but the thing that stays there is light air tool oil, and tranny assembly lube, (expencive blue hard grease) i dont have a denny t pin but my custom ground pin isnt groving. i realy like the tranny grease though, it will make 60 grit sand paper into a slip and slide, well thats over doing it but you get the point.

I used no grease when I put it in, maybe that is a problem. The stocker was dry to though, so I don't know.

I'm not sure if it's a big deal. There's a mark, but it has no depth, it's not digging into the metal.

Mine is diggin pretty deep and ive only had it in for about 500 miles. I could feel the edges along the groove.

What are you guys actually considering deep??

i agree with whoever said its metal to metal, its gonna scratch up but as long as it doesnt dig in its fine. even the stock one was all scratched up when i took it out.

Lightbulb Denny T pin wear.

Its gunna wear some. Mine has about 5,000 miles on it and I also have one in my 4BT that has about 8,000 miles on it and both are wearing well, only a few thousandths deep.

If the fuel pin is wearing enough to catch you fingernail, it is not hard enough.
