front spring flip

i was wondering, since i wanted to raise the front of my truck up a bit to get it level, if i could take apart my springs in the front of my truck and flip them so the arch is the other way round and then that would bump the front end up 2" or so, is this a bad idea or will it work? thanks gregg

the springs SHOULD be arched so that the center is down, however 15 years or so of the mighty cummins and all the stockers out there have a negative arch to them. i would either take them to a spring shop and get them re-arched or pick up a set of skyjacker lift springs to replace the worn out stockers.

Just get some new springs. Your truck will ride better too.

I run 2" skycrapper front springs. Levels the truck out decently. I've had them on my truck for about a year now and I don't see them sagging just yet.

SkyJacker make ones specifically for the Cummins powered Dodge. I think they claim they are 2.5". after about a year it sagged back a fair bit. The ride is much better but I wish I would have went with the 4". The Cummins is just too heavy. I might look into airbags as well...

My 2.5" Syjackers seem to be holding up quite nicely, going on two years now.

simplysmn, what size tires are you running with the 8 inch lift?, i have a 3 inch body and wanna flip the rear hangers and put chevy rear hanger and then that would give me 4" and then get 4" springs made for the front. but hows the fuel milage and all the where and tear?
