Front end wiggles

Front end wiggles
I have been noticing for the past couple of days that the front end on my truck has been wobbly when I turn a curve. It doesn't matter which direction. It feels like the wheels may have some side to side play. Would a stabilizer shock help this? Any suggestions? Thanks!

stabilizer is only a bandaid.
Check your tie rod ends for play, kingpins for wear, steering box for play, the coupler from the steering shaft to the input of the box, and your front spring hangar rivets at the frame.

its usually the kingpin in the dana 60 front, rebuild it, it pretty easy, and worth it before it gets bad, my friend never fixed his wobble and his tire fell of doin 70.....in a chevy tho

it is the huge pin looking thing right on the other side of your rotors and all the brake stuff, its the thing that lets your axle spindle turn back and forth, its really hard to miss, its huge,sits vertically, you'll have to rebuild both sides, its about a 2 hour job, super easy, sorry for the lack of info, you should find it easy though!!! good luck

The job is pretty straight forward although I wouldn't call it "super easy".

Sometimes the kingpins themselves don't need to be changed only the nylon cone that fits over top of it. Also bearings in the bottom need to be replaced along with their races. Start spraying some freeall on the 4 top and bottome bolts now and they should come out no problem. If you need to change the kingpins (one or both) you'll need something to fit in the huge female hex. I used a piece of a allen wrench in a socket with a 6' bar. You'll probably need torches to heat it up to get them out. I wouldn't do this job again without air for an impact. In the link part 43 and 52 are the caps you'll see to the inside of your tires. I got all my parts for about $135including 2 new inner hub seals and one kingpin. I hope everything goes well

If you dont know what it is and where its located, better take it to a good front end alignment shop to fix this. Sometimes there tuff to get out. Usually need a front end alignment anyway afterwards to make sure everything is lined up. Theyll also check the other stuff in your front end for excessive wear. The shop will have all the correct tools and a two hour job there could take an average person the better part of a day.
