Front driveline mods for drag racing.

I have the back end covered. What modifications are being done to the front to stand up to the boosted launches. Mine is completely stock right now.

Its been mentioned over on 1stgen.org. Find the front drive shaft out of something like a F550, take the flange off the front of the NP205 and put a 1410 series yoke from the rear of a NP205 and put a 1410 series yoke from a dana 70 on the front dana 60 and have the front drive shaft modified to fit.

JD730 is right on the mark w/the driveshaft mod. You also might consider a few upgrades in other areas since you will be a "speed" application, such as chromoly inner shafts, CTM or Superjoint axle u-joints, and 35 spline chromoly outer stub axles. Depending on what E.T. you think you will run, you may even want to get rid of the lockout hubs and go with drive flanges. You will need to buy one or the other when using the 35spl. outers. Stay away from a front locker, it WILL steer with it's own mind upon acceleration.
If you are running stock springs up front, axle wrap can be minimized by a set of Rancho RS9000 shocks set to #9. If the truck is really rowdy, you may have to link it. Just make sure the kingpins are in good shape, death wobble can be induced by acceleration.

Thank you for the information. I just talked to quad 4x4. They have everything for the 1410 setup except the driveshaft itself. I can have that made and balanced locally. I will start looking into the rest of the work.
